![]() | Parrot Fish Breeding |
ktruchan![]() Small Fry Posts: 1 Votes: 0 Registered: 18-Jun-2005 ![]() ![]() | I have a pair of jelly bean parrot fish that have just laid eggs in a community tank filled with lots of large fish. Is it best to remove the parents along with the eggs into a separate tank, or should I wait until they hatch? If so, what size tank would I need? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Are your parrots dyed fish? If they are any color like blue, green, pink, etc, they are dyed. Natural colors for parrots include greenish brown, red-orange, and pale yellowish. Congrats on the eggs! No, the term Jelly bean at least should refer to the strain that is a hybrid of pink convict and blood parrot. undyed jellybeans should be more of a pinkish color as opposed to the more orange color of a normally colored blood parrot. jellybeans also probably won't grow as large as a blood parrot. they are typically a bit more aggressive though. ![]() |

Since they can not close their mouths...large pellets are not a good thing. Flake food works well, along with bloodworms, since they are long and can suck them in easily. Shrimp pellets are one of their favorites to eat, off the gravel and from the top, if they stay there long enough. Please dont over estimate these fish just because they are hybrids! They are still a cichlid at heart. 72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up 75 gallon: A. Few run into death because of their shape. people wouldnt be consistently making them if they weren't successful IMO 72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up 75 gallon: A.
