You don't want to attempt feeding until the yolk sac is absorbed and the fry is free swimming.

yes dont feed them until the egg sac disappears. The mother may have spat a little to early so the still have the sacs on them. Ounce the sac clears up feed 3 times daily.. i feed my baby peacocks frozen baby brine, finely crushed up pellets or crushed spirlina flakes. If you have a matured sponge filter in the tank, the fry can usually feed from the rotifers that grows in the sponge.

tell us how u go..

i came home yesterday morning to find my baby had disappeared

it must have gotten sucked through the breeding net

i have the bottom of the net covered and it was sitting in a plastic conntainer.. is there any other way to make the net safe from the other fish? two breeding nets maybe???

im reluctant to strip the female in case this happens again!

or i just strip the female in an already setup 50lt tank with an already seeded box filter from the colonys tank.

i just stripped my female ... i tried to make it as less stressful as i possible could for her.. and now i have a whole net full of babies! i cant believe how many!
they are so tiny and so cute!

i have 2 breeding nets on the one frame plus i also have my fish net around that so i hope that will be enough protection....

i have left the light off for the moment as i dont want to stress them any more...

im so excited!!!!!! /:'

congrats on the babies
wat type of peacock are they from??

start feeding them baby brine and they will love ya.. babies go crazy over it.

make sure you get a grow out tank rdy for them in a few weeks so they can start growing bigger.
