carpe_diem Fish Addict *Dreamer* Posts: 555 Kudos: 292 Votes: 51 Registered: 18-Apr-2004 | my female spat out one of the babies she was holding in her mouth and it stil has a yolk sac it is sitting in the breeding net in a container. i was wondering if you need to feed or do anything for it ? i think it feeds from the yolk sac but im just wondering.. the last lot of fry i had didnt have the yolk sac |

The mother may have spat a little to early so the still have the sacs on them. Ounce the sac clears up feed 3 times daily.. i feed my baby peacocks frozen baby brine, finely crushed up pellets or crushed spirlina flakes. If you have a matured sponge filter in the tank, the fry can usually feed from the rotifers that grows in the sponge. tell us how u go.. |

carpe_diem Fish Addict *Dreamer* Posts: 555 Kudos: 292 Votes: 51 Registered: 18-Apr-2004 | i came home yesterday morning to find my baby had disappeared it must have gotten sucked through the breeding net i have the bottom of the net covered and it was sitting in a plastic conntainer.. is there any other way to make the net safe from the other fish? two breeding nets maybe??? im reluctant to strip the female in case this happens again! |
