My lfs just got some jewel cichlids in. What are the more common ones in the trade? Im sure thats what they got since they never get anything uncommon. Would these cichlids get along ok with blue acaras, key holes and severums? Or are they more on the aggressive side? And how large do they get? Any general info on these fish would be great. Thanx

The common jewel is the Hemichromis bimaculatus, and they get around 6+ inches. They are on the aggressive side.

they would pick on your keyholes but you never know... one individual might not see them as threat but another might see them as weak and decide to show their power. there not over aggressive about as aggressive as your BA and as said they get to around 6 inches closer to 5 but i think.

any other Q's?
