Arrgh, the pain of dial-up!:%) It was worth the wait though. Great pics, and AWESOME rustys! I had a few a while back and they weren't anywhere near the quality of yours - I guess you found a good source after all huh?

Nope, no more sand, this amount is a perfect balance of function and thickness to prevent any anaerobic pockets. It's about 3/4 inch to about 1/2 inch depending where it is.

are you thinking of getting any more rock because if you are then r you going to try and get a mixture ?

Nope, not as such. I like the ones I have now, and any more would be over-doing it.

are you going to try and breed all of your fish?

I think I'll just go with natural breeding. I'll just let the fry fend for them selves. Then again quality mbunas are of short supply in Houston... so I could probably make a good bit selling them... So I really don't know yet.

Sorry to hear about the cyrtocara morii, but at least their getting a decent home and not some chain store.

how many fish is it that you have in there?

14 As of right now, I'll probably get some more shortly. I'm a crazy over stocker, and I'll probably end up with 16-18 fish in there, but I don't recommend that to ANYONE.

what is that browish colour fish

Iodotropheus sprengae (Rusty Cichlid)

you have yellow labs do you know your male female ratio???????

Nope... not exactly... I'm pretty sure it's 2m/3f though.

What do you feed your fish (freeze dried, fake waers)

Hikari Cichlid Staple, HBH African Cichlid Attack and Frozen Peas.

Tell me something - how do you keep your algae at bay?

It really doesn't grow that much for me, the only algae I've had is some very thin brown algae growing on the glass, which I can just use my magnet to clean off. I do 20% water changes every other day, so I assume that keeps nitrates down so algae can't grow.

Also, what type of sand did you get?

It's made by the same company as tahitian moon sand, and costs about the same. I got a 20lb bag for $20.

dont suppose u got a full tank shot have u

I'll work on one tonight .

Thanks everyone
