These cichids are also known as German rams. They are pretty popular because of their beautiful colors, and because they stay pretty small. They are delicate fish though, and need good water quality to survive. They are very lovely fish to look at, but it can be difficult to keep them alive initially.
You'd probably be able to fit a few pairs in there, if those are the only fish you want. Here is a link to some info on this fish.

I'd say a thrity gallon would be good for two pairs. They can be difficult to acclimate, but once you're over the hump, they are hardy and beautiful fishes with a lot of personality.

2 pairs would be about right. You could also add a few more fish but be careful of other Cichlids. I had a breeding pair of angels kill a Ram. They're great fish and once they're settled in not at all difficult as long as you're on top of water changes.

Good Luck, Mike

Origynally it's planned to be a species tank, I had a shoal of 12 black neons, only one left, I lost 11 of them due to old age (almost 3 years with me), the survivor is the only fry to did it, now I have 2 basic options

a) leave this 30g as a species tank for the Rams, get a 15 or 20g get another 5 black neons and 6 cories, and move the remaining neon to this tank.

b) leave the neon and get the 5 of them to complete the shoal and get this ommunity tank with the Black neons and the Rams.

What do you think, I get a little more inclinated for option a

Are the Rams middle tank swimmers, bottom, upper?

Rams like plants and structure, they'll hang near rocks and plants. If you put enough stuff in the tank they'll be all over. If it's kind of sparse they won't move around much.

Get the Rams, Mike

Aquabid.com. It's like e-bay only for fish.

Usually that is true, but some people on Aquabid will ship internationally. You can tell who they are by the symbol that appears next to the auction description.
