clevy Small Fry Posts: 3 Kudos: 2 Votes: 0 Registered: 01-May-2005 | Awesome pics! Congrats and good luck. I never had alot of luck with the rams. I am not sure why, but I did not have live plants and I heard that is something they really like? Please share more pics. |

The eggs were gaurded for hours and the fanned and placed in different spots while they hatched yesterday evening. They actually haven't used the fry holes they dug. At first I was confused and could not find where the fry had gone. Then I saw the male hovering a centimeter from the surface of the water in the back. The Parents had transfered the fry to a ledge near the water line that is formed by the 3D background. Here is the pic of the eggs about to hatch, if you look closely you can see there eyes: http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k82/budzilla_2006/DSCN0768.jpg Here is where the ledge is: http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k82/budzilla_2006/DSCN0824copy.jpg Here are the fry: http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k82/budzilla_2006/DSCN0828.jpg http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k82/budzilla_2006/DSCN0830.jpg -Vincent |

What will be cool to watch is when they start to leave that ledge like little birds learning to fly lol. I will keep looking into this thread. Keep us posted. And keep with the pics they are also really cool. p.s- Do you have BBS for them? And what are your plans when they get older? |

I reccomend Hikari first bites. They are a great source of nutrition. I used that with my platy fry and it showed great results. Along with ACF tads |

This was recommended by my friend LFS owner, who himself has good experience of breeding different fish and raising the fry. Take an egg, get it hard boiled, remove the white and crush the hardened yolk. Leave it in a dry place for a few hours and when dried, grind it into fine powder. The fry just love it. |
