Hello again,

Do you think it's alright to keep blue rams with bolivian rams, or should it be avoided?

Thanks.

I don't see a problem with having the two together. If you have males of each species I am sure you will see a territorial dispute every now and then, but nothing too bad.

Yup, totally true. German and Bolivian rams will get along well together. They will act the same towards each other as they would for their own kind. As stated above, males might squabble now and then, but it really isn't anything to be worried about.

Hi again.

I think I won't get them, not at the moment. My tank is not that big (25 gallons) and I don't want to take a risk.

Thanks for answering.

Rams are totally peaceful towards other fish but as stated before the male rams will exchange a chase every so often with eachother.

I might get a pair in the future, but for the moment I decided to leave it. I still might get them in the future.

However, instead I'm getting a pair of Apistogramma Elizabethae, which are a bit more expensive, but look quite nice from the pictures I was able to find. Think I will have to get a new tank soon as I found two suppliers of apistogramma, one a home breeder who has some interesting fish, and the other a shop and they have some fish that i've never seen elsewhere, but I'm taking it slowly for the time being.

Thanks again for helping.

I have to disagree with the Bolivians and the Germans fighting with each other.

IME they ignore each other, and even the German golds I have only pick on each other.

Well, I was just stating from the fact that male cichlids will be male cichlids, espcially if they are breeding.I have seen two rams lip lock before, not pretty.

Where in my post did I single you out?

Yes cichlids will be cichlids.

I think the lip lock is funny looking, and for the most part it's harmless.
