I have a 5 inch red devil and a 5 inch Midas, they really get along with each other(really) They fought with my flower horn together side by side like a team. From the looks of it, I think they are forming a pair, they are not mating, but just seem to stick with each other most of the time. But the important question, is it possible for they to breed with each other?

A reminder: They are two different species, I did not buy two red devils. Midas look somewhat different from the red devil.

where did you buy these 2 fish? if you bought them at a regular pet store there's no guaruntee that you have a pure midas and pure red devil. the only way to know for sure is to buy them from a reputable breeder or importer. if you got them at a pet store then it's more likely that they are a cross of a devil and midas. most pet store red devils or midas' are in fact a mixture of the 2. this should answer the question as to wether they can breed together or not. yes they most certainly can. how big are these two? they'll probably reach maturity somewhere between 5-7".
