Red Dragon Firefish sexing | |

In the past I have kept various south/central american cichlids but now I have decided to give africans a shot. One of the fish that caught my eye was the red dragon firefish variety of peacock (also known under other names). I ordered 4 was shipped 5, all but the smallest have clearly developed the egg spots while the smallest appears to have very faint egg spots and is not as colorful as the rest. How do you sex these fish? and if I have a 4:1 ratio will they fight over the female or if all 5 are males is that going to lead to any kind of trouble? |
