I had three to begin with that are/were in a 48 gallon tall. The two larger ones had been fighting, but over the weekend I got a kink in the airlines, or something, that shut down the pump. I guess the extra stress of the airpump and fighting killed the two larger ones, but the smaller one came out just fine.
I gave the tank a good cleaning and water change and the surviving cichlid is enjoying having the tank to him/her self.
My question is: Should I add another fish friend for the survivor? If so how many and what kind would you suggest? I have a six inch sail fin pleco in a 29 gallon with a goldfish, that might also be happier in the 48 g. with the cichlid. Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
