Aggression is no problem for me to deal with. What shelly would fit in a 10g, and look the best (so mom won't think I'm wasting my money ![]() |

If you want a colony of fish herding each other around and having friendly squabbles, multis are a great option. If you want a bonded pair fish that comes in a choice of varieties and locations, brevis make elegant pets. Less common options include signatus and ornatipinnis, both of which are gorgeous. Other species are often kept in 10 gals but can be excessively territorial, and they wouldn't be my first choice. In particular the ocellatus group - occies, meleagris, and speciosus primarily (there are also a couple of super-rare species in the group). -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

How many do I get? Hope all goes well with yours, and good choice on the shellies ![]() |

They're more into the malawis (which I'm keeping currently). Do you have any suggestions for a good site to get these from? UPDATE: After doing some searching of my own, I decided on multis. They seem to be the most interesting, even if they aren't as colorful as ocellatus (which I was thinking about). They seem to be -really- tiny, though... like, tetra tiny. How many should I keep in a 10g? Last edited by smantzer at 28-Jan-2005 17:27 |

Brevis are definitely pair fish, and while they have such small territories that you could probably have two pair in a 10, I wouldn't recommend it - better to let their fry have the bioroom and territory space. -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |
