Let me ask you a question I currently have one ruby and one german blue. They bicker alittle but get along really well. If I added another ruby would it mess things up? My Scapes |

If you added another Bolivian ram to your tank, it would make the two Bolivians pay more attention to each other and more or less leave the German ram alone. The two Bolivians's behavior towards each other would depend on sex; two males would squabble, a male/female would likely become a pair and could get aggressive towards the lone ram if they decided to breed, and two females would bicker with each other a bit, and might include the other ram in the arguing, too. If the tank is long enough, you'll have enough space for three seperate ram territories if it comes down to that. |

The german and the bolivian sort of have their little territories and they squabble a bit but overall very peaceful. I have a 46 gallon, but I also have two large angels (which I plan on moving out) that are fine as well. Mike R, So are you saying the Ruby is not the same as the Bolivian, but a crown rubie is? Mike R![]() Fish Addict Posts: 593 Kudos: 830 Votes: 322 Registered: 27-Jul-2004 ![]() ![]() | Crown Ruby is what I've seen them called. Rubies is the plural of Ruby. I've never seen Ruby Clown Cichlid but it sounds close enough that it could be the same. If it looks like a Bolivian and they called it a Ruby Clown, I bet the manager of the store told someone, "Mark these Crown Rubies." And they heard, "Clown Rubies." Mike |
