(I put urgent just to get peoples attention.) I have a 29 gallon EMPTY tank. (I moved my other fish to another tank)And I want a SOLITARY cichlid. I want a cichlid that has these qualities:

1. An efficient predator, will eat small fish up to 1.5 or two inches.

2. On the larger side. (over 6 inches)

3. Has a cool personality, and is smart.

4. Active.

5. Will learn to recognize me.

Possible fish suggestions in order form most wanted to least wanted.

1. JACK DEMPSEY.
2. Convict cichlid.
3. Jewel Cichlid.

Keep in mind that all I want is ONE fish. any more fish suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.

a female salvini might be your best bet. of the 3 choices you have already, a male convict would be your best bet. however I think salvini are much more predatory than cons.

I as well think that your tank is on the small side for chichlids. Also, don't put urgent just to get attention. All questions usually get answered within a day or so. ^_^

Yeah, you only need to put urgent if it's urgent.

I think most cichlids (larger ones) are too active, and a 29 would be to small. Ever thought about getting a 55?

the type of fish you want, is a larger agressive cichlid, but as in the other post, what you want wont fit in ur tankmeans.

a adult male convict, while it isn't to aggressive is a good choice.
