I recently acquired a "pair" of Brevis.... Now They do seem very "paired" but you never know.
My question is: Can you vent these little guys?
Any other sure ways of sexing other than simply pairing from a group?

Thx, Dave

No need to vent, Brevis are just about the easiest shellie to sex. The size difference is quite apparent, to start, and in striped varieties males typically have more and better-defined tail stripes. The facial shape is quite different, too; if you get a side-view shot of each fish I can pin 'em down for you, almost a sure thing.

O.k, I'm still trying to get the second pick of the elusive shell dwellers....
Got the first one one the first shot, the second not so easy. Oh the joys of little fish that live in little shells

Are they full grown?

They appear to be the same sex to me. Can't be 100% sure though.
There is usually a considerable size difference betweens males and females.

LittleMousling will have the answer..

Edit- some more pictures would be helpful.

They look pretty young to tell, but from the facial shape (a better bet than tail stripes, though the matching stripes of your fish make this a not-100% answer) says the top is a male, bottom's a female. Keep watching 'em, but remember: buying 6 is much safer!

Thanks for the help,
I was thinking along the same lines
I went and picked up 2 more today, so I hope to get a pair from the 4...
What are the facial structure differences?

The long and the short of it is, the male's face has aless steep slope to it. If you look at good side-view shots of identified males and female you should see it - try tracing a few if you can't tell the difference right away.
