MR_CICHLID![]() Fish Addict Posts: 770 Kudos: 582 Votes: 124 Registered: 12-Aug-2003 ![]() ![]() | I recently acquired a "pair" of Brevis.... Now They do seem very "paired" but you never know. My question is: Can you vent these little guys? Any other sure ways of sexing other than simply pairing from a group? Thx, Dave ![]() |

The size difference is quite apparent, to start, and in striped varieties males typically have more and better-defined tail stripes. The facial shape is quite different, too; if you get a side-view shot of each fish I can pin 'em down for you, almost a sure thing. -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

Got the first one one the first shot, the second not so easy. Oh the joys of little fish that live in little shells ![]() |

There is usually a considerable size difference betweens males and females. LittleMousling will have the answer.. Edit- some more pictures would be helpful. Keep watching 'em, but remember: buying 6 is much safer! -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

If you look at good side-view shots of identified males and female you should see it - try tracing a few if you can't tell the difference right away. -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |
