I wonder if we're dealing with the now expanding Microgeophagus family here...with the different colorations either representing currently undescribed specied (i.e. - M. sp. "two spot" ). I don't know what the differences are between them and the more common microgeophagus altispinosus. Also, it could be just be that the various wholesalers are just not identifying them correctly and passing the wrong names down to the LFS. |

The two names are both for the same fish nowadays. |
