I currently have a 29g tank. My stock list is in my sig. I'd like to add a pair of some kind of small cichlid. I want something colorful, maybe blue rams, but I think my pH is too high (7.5) for them. If blue rams won't work, what about bolivian rams? What other fish would fit this description? I know I'm probably at my stocking limit now, so I'm planning on getting rid of either the platys or black skirts. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Maybe keyhole, checkerboard, apistogramma? I've had my German rams for a while now, they're doing quite well with a pH of 7.4 but maybe I just got lucky with mine.

You should be fine with German rams just don't expect to much breeding with the pH that high. But if you are concerned about it go with Bolivian rams since they are found in the wild in a pH from 6 - 7.6 depending on location.

If you were to get the Bolivians (good choice!), and remove a fish, I'd take out the Black Skirts. They can be nippy in cramped quarters or small numbers.

I would say get some bolivian rams, maybe 2, and get rid of the black skirts.

yup Blivian Rams are a good choice compared to Blue Rams. Hardier and as mentioned above found in a wide range of pH. They aren't AS colorful as the blue ram, but if the conditions of the tank are right they should have pretty good color. Here is a picture of one of my Bolivian Rams...
