You would think BLUE would have something to do with it.... Can someone help me! do the juviniles look the same!? HELP! I think blues would be so neat to add to my cichlid tank!

Blue acaras are smaller (when adult), though that won't help much in a pet store. Blue acaras tend to have vertical bands of color, which green terrors do not have. Also, larger green terrors have humps on their head.

Check out pictures of these fish in our profile section, that should help.

I believe Blue acara's have orange trim on the dorsal fin, but none on the tail unlike a green terror. As has already been said, blue acaras also might show vertical bands similar to a Jack dempsey and may also have a black line running vertically through their eyes. Both of these are traits that won't be seen on a Green Terror/Gold Saum.

The blue acara is less meaner. The green terror is one mean SOB. You can tell them apart when their in a separate tank. A tank full of green terror should have fins tatter and torn. And one more thing, green terror have a metalic white shade on their body, I don't think blue acara have that. I prefer green terror, their so mean lol
