I've finally decided to change my 30 gallon into a softwater community tank to house a pair of rams, and a school of cardinal tetras. Recently I saw a single blue ram at my LFS, but this one had extended finnage. They were selling it as a "Long fin Blue Ram" as I recall. I was wondering how rare these are and if a common run-of-the-mill LFS like mine would carry this species again.

They're not rare, but it's better to ask you LFS & see when they'll get more.

I've seen them, they are alot weaker than the standard ram. It is a mutation that causes the long fins, and for some reason, they seem to have weaker health.
