Rainbow cichlids are really nice looking, you could go with one or two of them.

By parrot do you mean the deformed hybrids that get to 8 inches. go with the rams or maybe some apistogramma cacatoides very entertaining fish and are dwarves male 2.5-3 inches while the females get to around 1.5 or a little smaller.

Shellies!!!!! Okay, so they're African and not EXACTLY peaceful, but you could have a really cool setup in a 40 gal. Maybe you could do a single Jack Dempsey? I think the shellies would be a best bet if you want to have lots of fish. You could have a lot of really great ones in a tank that size.

hey thanks for the reply, shellies are good. but i can't find any, was thinking of putting those in my 10 gallon but i just can't find any. i think jack dempsey might be too big for my tank since they can grow about 8 inches i think
