I have noticed that my Rams are displaying what I think is breeding behaviour , I have noticed the female 'shuffling' in the gravel and becoming very territorial, although she is not damaging the other fish. The male is hovering around but does not seem to be as energetic as the female.

Does anyone have any tips on how to proceed? I mean should I do anything or should I just let them get on with it?

I would like to hear about anyone elses experiences with breeding these beautiful fish and maybe share thoughts on the matter!

Just let them be. What size is your tank and what are the tankmates of these Rams? You will most likely lose the first batch of fry/eggs but they'll master the art of breeding in time.

WEll I have heard that they are quite 'twitchy' when it comes to breeding, and this is their first brood, so I would imagine they may become lunch. They are in a 20 UKgal tank. However if they do sucessfully breed I'll be sure to post piccys!!! (I do have a piccy of my female ram on my website tho)

Well the rams seemed to have just loose interest after just two days. I didn't see any eggs laid, however I would imagine that because this is their first attempt its nothing to worry about! on the plus side my sailfin molly has just given birth!
