If i was to get a 20 gallon planted tank, and wanted some small cichlids, what would be the number of fish i could stock it with, and what would be some fish?

Some type of apistos would be good for the cichlids, or possibly some kribensis. You could then stock it with various types of tetras, or rasboras. There would be a multitude of choices you could make. What is it that you like?

i aggree with jim, a albino krib would add a nice color to the tank, along with other sschooling fish to make nice color combos.

For a nice, colorful tanks maybe a pair of rams and a school of tetras, harlequin rasboras, or gold barbs. A group of small cories for the bottom and perhaps a plec.

Check out this link for other suggestions as well.

Actually i do like rams, so i could try those. How big do rams get, and if i got a pair, could i get a male, and a female and breed them?

Also, if i was to put some live plants, should i use sand or gravel and what kind?
