Sounds like the great basis for a shelldweller tank - just add shells (and fish ).

Almost every shellie species can thrive in a 20 long, so you've got lots of lovely options. Do you like color? Aggressiveness? Family lifestyles? Shy fish? Outgoing fish? Active fish? Calm fish? Fish with unusual shapes? Fish with unusual behaviors?

The most colorful species is Lamprologus ocellatus "Gold." The best plan is to start with six juveniles; they'll grow up and kick out the spares, which you can remove and return to the LFS. You'll be left with a pair or trio, most likely, which will happily spawn and fill the tank with fry.
