Can anyone suggest to me a mix of Lake Tanganyika Cichlids to to fit a tank who's length is 100cm, breadth 40cm and is 55 cms high.

I would like a mix of Cichlids that will grow to full size and also breed in the community.

Tank Capacity:
Litres: 220
US Gallons: 58.12
UK Gallons: 48.4

(according to the site's calculator)

Hmm ... well, what jumps to mind is a nice rockdweller mix, but I'm not the best at picking good combos. Hopefully now that we know the gallonage someone will be along to help you out.

(Although personally, my vote goes to: big multi colony!)

Well, you could have a nice mix of single rockdwellers (such as one only of N.Brichardi, N.Leleupi, Julidochromis Ornatus or Dickfeldi), maybe a couple of Altolamprologus Calvus or Compressiceps. Perhaps a pair or N.Brevis.

The problem with Tang cichlids breeding in a 200l tankis that there isn't enough room for the breeders to have their territory, and for the remaining fish to live comfortably with what space they are left with.

A pair of Brevis would breed but its not likely any of the fry would survive long. To breed Tangs you either need species tanks, or huge tanks for a community setting.

I'd go a pair of compressiceps or calvus and a pair of leleupi and one of the brichardi division. Daffodils will most likely look better with compressiceps though. After a while the brichardi (or other) and leleupi will develop a pretty large family. Calvus and compressiceps though would be good at keeping their own ground against the leleupi and brichardi.

Some fish that fit in the tank:
A. Compressiceps.
A. Calvus.
Various Julies.
N. Leleupi
N. Similis and other shellies
N. Brichardi, Daffodil, Helianthus, Hecqui, tetrocaphanus (sp?)

Bottom dwellers i would reccomened various synodontis, depending on the type you have available at your LFS.

I have a 55 gallon with:

7 Cyprichromis Leptosoma Masala (2m 5f)
3 Leluepi (1m 2f)
2 Multi's (2f)
3 Bristlenose (1m 2f)

It is a pretty good mix and they all seem to get along ok.
All of the above have/are breeding in this tank except for the multi's (obviously), so there is always something happening.

Cheers
