Are you sure that you want Purple Parrots?.
They are Dyed Fish & the Dying is really painfull for the fish.

regradless of dying, but parrots aren't small cichlids, and for 2 a 55 gallon would probably be the min.

A 55 gal. is a good home for your poor Dyed Purple Parrot fish.

They are man made, so i cannot tell you what habitat do they live in.

ok... illl see whhat i can do. But i want to point out that one of the purple parrots just kind of lays around all day (thats how he has always been) But when i show him the food container he zips up and is ready for food. is this odd? and the other parrot breaths heavy 24/7 (he has always been like this) i checked the ammonia they arent to high. is this normal note: that the other parrot doesnt breath heavy.

thanks

you said the ammonia isn't too high...is there ammonia present at all? if so then that's not good. in a cycled and established tank there should be no ammonia or nitrites. if either are present then your fish will suffer until that problem is corrected.

as for decor, you can pretty much go with anything you want. make sure to have some kind of hiding places for the parrots should they feel the need. you can use soem type of root structure or rocks to form a cave for them. I'd have a few hiding places so they can each choose which one they like. I'd go with fake plants because parrots are cichlids and are e to digging in the gravel.

ok thanx. The tank is well established and there is no amonia present so i dont know why the parrot would be breathing heavy.
