I just have one question...Is my tank ok with all that rock? John said it was about 60 lbs...I have it placed equally across the back of the tank...The heavest piece I have positioned in the middle of the back, where there is a support in the tank, and a support on the fish stand...just curious...though I know it's probably too late to do a whole lot about it... Gibson SG you know you want one!! |

If I remember correctly I have about 50 lbs of gravel and then about 60 lbs of rock...I'm really pleased with it. As for stocking I have: (copied straight from John.Stones classified) 3 Acei (Pseudotropheus Acei) 4 Kenyii (Maylandia lombardoi) 3 Rusty Cichlids (Iodotropheus sprengerae) 3 Cobalt Blues (Metriaclima callainos) 5 Electric Yellows (Labidochromis caeruleus) They seem to be getting alon pretty well. I love how they go in and out of the rock "caves"/holes. And at feeding time it's like setting a pizza down in front of a bunch of teenagers...wouldn't dare stick my hand in there ![]() One more question, I'll be ok to do any remodeling with them in there right? They aren't really as vicious as rumors have it ![]() ![]() Anything else anyone wants to suggest, I'd be willing to listen to any suggestions...Heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." I have only been nip three times before ![]() Also they may seem really hungry, but remember to not overfeed them. Overfeeding them causing them to get lethargic and they will not show their best color, not to mention how it affect the water. You ask for a suggestion, so here it is. With the holey rock I would add another type also just to give some contrast. ...................openwater Last edited by openwater at 23-Dec-2004 18:58 |

I am setting up a mbuna tank as I am soon moving to a v small apt. There will be no missing the tank as it will take up a goodly part of the living room so I want a spectacular tank. Hope mine turns out 1/2 as well as yours! Great stuff. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |
