I have 2 Angels, not sure of eithers gender, and lately they have been acting very defensive towards the other fish when any of them come near a certain plant. Not only that, but other than eating, they both are standing guard nearby and nip at anything that gets close. Any ideas????

Ok so I took a closer look at the plant they've been guarding.....and I can't believe I didn't see them......eggs. So what the heck do I do? I wasn't planning on breeding Angels! Guess they like their enviroment huh? ***pats back*** So what now?

umm 24" high, about 16" across. 2 Angels, 11 Harlequin Rasboras, 6 Albino Corys, and 3 Ottos.

Ok now I'm asking some questions...What do I do? Nothing? Are the eggs already fertilized? Will they eat them? Will the Rasboras eat them (if they can get close enough)? :%)

Come on everyone, I need some advice! I've noticed that some of the eggs are white today, instead of the pics I posted yesterday in which they were transparent. What should I do? I'm not sure if I can take care of all them. Should I not do anything and let mother nature do her thing? Which BTW, I assume is that the Angels and Rasboras will eat either the eggs or fry. Or should I attempt to raise them? I have no idea what's involved with bringing up baby Angels. So come on people of FP, I need you

Just leave them there & the white eggs are fungused eggs & the parents will remove them. Yes, they or the Rasboras might eat them, but usually the Angels will guard the eggs. For the first few times they might not succeed to raise the fry but eventually they'll do.
It's better to leave a small night lamp, so that the Angels will see the eggs at night, because if they are afraid of something, they'll eat them.

Ok well the first time was unsuccessful. Now they are at it again, I just noticed them starting to lay their eggs. I'm not really to sure what I should do. I need some advice. Was it I, that did something wrong the first time? Am I not giving them a chance? Should I just not do anything?

Congratulations Jessnick

What I would do is just let mother nature take it's course, especially since you said you were not prepared to raise all of the fry, and all...Let the parents do what they know instinctively to do, and if the eggs do hatch and turn into fry, then you'll have to set up some sort of a fry tank:%)

Maybe start looking at ebay and other places of your choice close by to find another tank...I'd go with 20 gallons or larger, but not too largeok maybe 15-20 gallons to raise the fry in...not too sure what to do with them...think I'll go get Leslie she has read up on angels more than i have...

Oh and the tank is lovely, I'm so glad that it came together so well...

Don't worry, the angels are new parents, and it might take a couple of tries to get it right. I am including a site with an article on angelfish breeding. I hope this helps. If you really don't want to breed and raise angel fry, you could just let "nature" take its course.
