leachim![]() Hobbyist Posts: 50 Kudos: 23 Votes: 2 Registered: 08-Nov-2006 ![]() ![]() | i have african cichlids,and am worried.i have just found out our building is getting a water softner.how will this effect my fish.as of now my tap water is at perfect water peramiters for my africans,higher ph etc. any helpful tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.thanx |

Find out if if there is a faucet where you can bypass the softener although that could require a long trip if you are far away from it. The best thing to do probably would be to buffer the water by placing in the tank some limestone, crushed coral, or dolomite. Good Luck EDIT: oops meant to say high ph sorry. |
