A mixture of food. Something different each day. Hikari Cichlids Pellets, Bloodworms & Brine Shrimp are very good for them, as long as they're not vegitarians.

here are the foods I keep on hand for my fish (mostly cichlids):

I got all these foods from [link=http://www.kensfish.com]http://www.kensfish.com" style="COLOR: #FFFFFF[/link]. These are all Ken's homemade foods:

Ken's Cichlid pellets (1.5 mm, 3.5 mm. and 5.5 mm)
Ken's Soft n Moist Krill pellets (1.5mm, 3.0mm and 5.0mm)
Ken's sinking pellets w/ spirulina
Ken's sinking pellets w/ brine shrimp
Ken's sinking earthworm sticks
Ken's sinking brine shrimp sticks
Ken's sinking vegetable sticks
Ken's sinking spirulina sticks
Ken's sinking 4bit blend
Ken's sinking Betta bits (has color enhancers, I feed to smaller cichlids)

Dainichi sinking medium Ultima pellets
Dainichi floating medium Ultima pellets
Dainichi sinking small Primary pellets

I purchased the Dainichi pellets through Kensfish but they are a separate brand. He also sells HBH and New Life Spectrum.

I also have on hand frozen krill, frozen bloodworms, freeze dried baby shrimp, frozen whole shrimps. Also, occasionally when at the lfs I'll buy live earthworms and black worms.
