Hi all!!

I am wondering what I could keep with my Texan (~8 or 9 inches) that could hold its own in my 120. I have some smaller faster fish (3 young Balas (4" ), and 1 young Apollo shark (4" ) ) that can avoid the Texan, although he doesn't really bother with them much at all. I think the smaller fish don't really interest him enough.

My concern is that with a bigger fish he will definitely be interested in a little battling, so I want something that won't get torn apart. So in your opinion what is a good similar sized fish to live with the above mentioned fish (prefer a red or blue color)??

Thanks!!

I think what you need is a polypterus senagalus that is 8 inches or bigger and a large featherfin synodontis.

That would really complete the tank.

I would go with either a Jack Dempsey, Green Terror, or another Texas.

See, you already have some problems there. Both of these fish are very large (apollos to 9", balas to 11" ) and are schooling. I know a 120 gallon is big, but when your talking about a school of foot long fish, you have a problem. I suggest working out that situation before you get more fish.
