I love my oscar to death but he seems bored alot of the time. I feed him feeder fish every once in awhile but I cant do that all the time. What would be a good toy to put in the tank to liven up his life abit?

THanks,
Chris

How big is he? What size is the tank?

Are you looking for something to be his companion or something he can chase around and eventually eat?

I've heard of ping pong (new and rinsed obviously) being used. Might need to put a small stone in it then reseal it up so it doesnt float as much.

That or a nice battery operated submarine that you can chase him around with ].

Ping pong ball that floats. Regular changes to the rocks/decor (during wky water changes). Every 2nd week put a few plastic plants in for him to dig up, take them out after 24 hours. Move the bubble outlet each time you clean the tank.

A rotation of "enrichment"

Just suggestions

Take a ping pong ball and poke a mall hole in it to allow it to fill with a small amount of water. This will allow the ball to submerge slightly. My O loves this.

Taking out the plants is just so they dont destroy or eat them

Don't think it is a must to remove the plastics. But I was thinking that you could put 'em in for a short period of time and take them out again. That way it isn't a constant in the tank, more interest. Also, the dug up plants floating around may not be optimal visual interest for humans, but we are trying to give em something to do so 24 hrs of unsightly is worth it.

Non-Premium members cannot insert an image directly into a post. The next best thing is just a direct link, like so.
