Sorry, i'm not sure what the Scientific name is.
I'm starting to think it's an OB Peacock, but i could be wrong. :%)

I'll post pics once I found a Digital Camera. So hopefully sometime soon.

just got my 180g setup last weekend. i took my fish from the 2 55g tanks i had and combined them. i now have;
4 p. phenochilus
7 a. maulana (bi-color 500's)
7 p. acei
1 l. caeruleus

i had to get rid of the demasoni because he was picking on the phenos too bad. i also got rid of the leluepi, red zebra,& a few acei.

Been gone for a while...

6 A. Maisoni
3 Cop. Mloto (yellow Princess)
6 L. Caerulus (sp)
4 giant danio
3 adult BN
5 albino cories

The Male A Maisoni always gets mentioned. Their blue contrasting against the yellow of the labs makes for good visual interest.

The A Maisoni in the species profile here is of my Maisoni.

Very Nice. Do you know the location of that guy?

Also how do the cories fair??? I've always thought they'd have trouble as their a bottom dweller and have no real defense against cichlids? Never had the nerve to try it in my tanks

This was borrowed from cichlid-forum.com A. Masoni is unique in that it shares a location with another, closely related A. stuartgranti member – Aulonocara maulana. These two species reside at Chitimba Bay, Malawi and are separated by less than 20 meters in depth and a mere 2.5 km of sand! The masoni is a deep water fish, claiming a habitat of large sheets of sandstone at 22 m.

The tank they currently reside in has about 140 lbs of holey rock. If and when they cichlids get too aggressive the cories run and hide, however Masoni is considered to be one of the more peaceful cichlids.

The big problems ive read about cories (having never experienced them)is that they will steal eggs frm non-mouth brooding species, as boththe labs and Masoni are mouth brooders id assume this keeps aggression to a minimum.

Yeah, I've heard that since the have no "armour" the cichlids will not really kill them but rather pick at them til' they simply die.....
never seen this happen but It's said that since cories are bottom dwellers there maybe prolems if the cories can't resect territories....
Guess it can go either way........

in colorado the phenos are not very rare at all. i see them in just about any lfs that has a decent selection of africans. every breeder i know has them (or had them). it's funny you say that though. i bought them thinking they were rare and found them everywhere. still a great fish though. by the way, i sold the acei group and got a group of c. borleyi and a couple n. fuscotaniatus. the borleyi and fuscos are small now, but should get to a decent size.

But i guess it follows suit, whats no where here is absolutely every where else
Some very nice additions though, enjoy

The Acei also make a good contrast against the Yellow Lab...And are always insanely hilarious to watch...not to mention when they are sucking up the snails I chunk into the tank:%)

Here's a picture of my piggy Acei (Bubba) Always swimming with his mouth open in hopes of something more to eat:%)

Heidi

PS he is the one mentioned in the Acei profile here on FP
