These guys have blue and black bands on them....hide in to the caves as soon as i switch off the lights.....chase around the black and albino sharks i have in the same tank and i know that when they get bigger the bright blue and black fades and the dont look as pretty as they did before...can someone help me out ..thanks? ![]() |

There is also an albino variety or this fish. This fish is endemic to the southern part of Lake Malawi, between Fort Maguire and Masinje. They are best if kept several females for each male. Origin: Endemic to Lake Malawi, Africa. Main Ecosystem: Rift Lake Salinity: Freshwater Temperament: Territorial. Diet: Carnivore Care: Feed with flakes and live foods. Hiding places are needed. pH: 7.5 - 8.5 Temperature: 23°C - 27°C (73°F - 81°F) Hardness: 10°dH - 15°dH Potential Size: 12.7cm (5" I am unsure what you mean by albino and black sharks? If you mean albino rainbow shark, and red tail black shark, no these fish are not compatible with your sharks. Those sharks should not be kept in groups of more than 1 either, and though adaptable, would probably lose in a fight with your peacock. The top of the dorsal fin has a whitish or pale blue border. Females are duller than males, displaying banded patterning on a whitish background...A tank for these mouth-brooding fish should incorporate a number of caves, since Blue Peacock Cichlids like to stay well concealed. A power filter will provide good surface movement to improve oxygenation, replicating the action of the waves on the surface of the lake". |
