Het folks,

I have two cichlid fry in my 29 gallon tank. I have no other tanks to move them to. They are almost a half inch now. They are starting to get more adventurous now, not spending as much time hiding in the coral. The other tanks mates are 2 electric yellows and I think a yellow zebra. Will the adult ciclids eventually kill them, or will they survive?

baby fish are quite resourcful and their cirtainly not stupid they no that big fish eat little fish and will spend most of their time in hiding. that said i think as long as they have a lot of hiding places they should probly survive

If they are a half inch now then they have done a pretty good job of not beeing eatin so far. Aslong as they are to big to fit into the mouths of the bigger fish they shouldn't get eatin. Agression wise your big fish shouldn't see them as much of a threat to there territory, and beeing small that gives them that many more places they can use to hide to get away if they need to.

Well I watched the tank for a while tonight and I think they should be fine for the time being. The adults don't seem to pay any attention whatsoever to them and they quickly get out of the way when one of the adults comes by. They are quite cute, while they are still pink and not yellow yet, they have the black on their top fin.
