I have a 30gal where I keep 3 yellow labs and 3 peacocks. They are all younge. Just as I fed them I noticed one of the female yeollow labs was skinnier and her throat was bulging. She is about 2 inches. The males is about 3.5 inches. What should I do? I can have a 10 gal tank ready for her if I have to.

Congrats,

Your best bet is to leave her be for 2 wks or so. Be sure to watch her.... if she's being overly harrassed remove her.

Other wise about 3 wks from now she should spit them out, maybe 4 wks, depending how she feels

Set-up the 10g, cycle it and put her in it, with a few hiding spots in say 3wks

I always like to give "new Mom's" a week or so before i put them back into the main tank.

water change the babies lots, warm water and 3-4 daily feedings.

Good Luck

I already have the tank cycled and I put her in. The male was chasing her relentlessly. The amazing part is she is so small. Not even two inches.

Yeah, they can surprise ya sometimes...

I once had a Ps. Acei just under 2", in a grow out tank, found her holding one day, 16 fry if you can believe that.

Well good Luck and happy fish keepin'

Well she got rid of them. Her mouth was normal so I gave her some food. She ate the food. I have seen no fry, so I think she ate them.

Check for the fry as much as you can. Mine where very very small & really difficult to see. Do you have any hiding places in there?.

There are lots of hiding places and I will keep checking. She is now out of the tank.
