![]() | Yellow lab as tankmate for P. demasoni? |
Rohan![]() Small Fry Posts: 7 Kudos: 2 Votes: 0 Registered: 29-Jul-2004 ![]() ![]() | Hi I have a juvenile P. Demasoni and a juvenile yellow lab, the two together in a twenty gallon tank. Is this sufficient, should I have wnother species or more of the yellows? I have lots of hiding spots, and lots of decorating plants, but the yellow lab is stayin gup front in the right front corner, instead of in a house? I am curious if I will need chaser fish? Any recommendations or ideas for this awsome but aggresive (P. Demasoni) little man? Rohan |

The electric yellow on the other hand is one of the most peaceful, kept in a tank that small the demasoni will kill the electric yellow for sure. These fish need a large tank with many rocks and hiding places, they also need to be in small colonies of 3 or more of each fish to be healthy. So for obvious reasons a 20g isn't good for an mbuna tank, the best you can do with it is maybe 1m/4f electric yellows and that's it. |

Or should it be the other way around? The demasoni was more expensive then the electric. I will get nothing for the electric if I return him to my LFS |

If you can get a tank of at least 30 gallons, return the demasoni and get more yellows, 4-5 of them altogether. The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. - Oscar Wilde |
