I just feel in love with the colours of rams and decided i need a pair..My questions is are they likely to fight with my single male dwarf gouramie? i have already had to move 1 dwarf gouramie cause him..is it just asking for trouble? thanks ![]() |

rewd![]() Big Fish Posts: 351 Votes: 0 Registered: 29-Aug-2003 ![]() ![]() | I have three rams in a large community tank (1 blue and 2 golds) and they don't bother anyone. They are by far my favorite fish but be warned: people say these fish are very sensitive to water quality and it can be difficult to get new fish to survive. This is absolutely true. I went through 5 blue rams only getting one to survive. When I got my two golds I was extremely lucky to find them in great health. Even then, one of them now has dropsey and I can not figure out why. If you get lucky and find rams that appear to be in great health with vibrant colors go for it. If they look sub-par in quality pass on them. Take the best care you can to acclimate them as well. |

Patchy![]() Enthusiast Posts: 224 Kudos: 195 Votes: 0 Registered: 25-Sep-2005 | I got 285L tank with a dwarf gourami and a bristlenose in it. im not worried so much about rams causing trouble its more the angry gourami as i have had to move his female cause his so angry. i have kept rams before, and i always order my fish through my lfs and pick em up before they put them in there tanks so they dont get transfered between so many tanks in a short space of time |
