I changed to a new type of fish food this morning. The flakes were a little bigger than the old food I used.

My angel fish ate with no problem, but a few seconds after he was done he started twitching. Kind of like a nervous twitch.

Do you guys think he is ok? Is he just adjusting to the new food or is it causing him problems? I cannot get the old food any longer so I was just wondering if I should try another type.

Thanks,
Don

I've never heard of "food shock" so to speak... I suppose it is possible though. Just keep a close eye on your angel and see what happens.

Fish, like humans, do prefer a variety in their diet. You'll find that a large number of the members here feed their fish with a staple flake of pellet, then throw in a treat of frozen bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp, shrimp pellets, and/or freeze dried bloodworms. Personally I feed a staple of Bio Blend pellets, then throw in an occasional treat of frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp. These frozen foods are only given a maximum of twice a week because they are so high in protien. Too much of a good thing can lead to constipation. I also toss in some sinking wafers and shrimp pellets for the bottom feeders (clown pleco and corys).

Thanks Dani,

I just bought a little of the same things you have. I was going to start giving him something different each day. Today was the first day, but now I think I will give him some of the old food tomorrow, then try something new the next day, then back to the old, then something new, and so on and so on.

I'll have to watch my little bud to make sure he gets enough to eat.

Thanks,
Don
