55g freshwater tank - 48" long

do you think I would be ok keeping the following together

First Choice:
4 angels
3 pearl gouramis
school of 8-10 cardinals
school of 6-8 cories

would you sub a school of lemon tetras for the cardinals? or recommend something else?

would you keep angel number at 4 or increase to 6?

thanks very much

depends on the size of the angels. i today added angels and cardinals together with no problem. if the angels are small then there shouldn't be n.e problems. with bigger angels i would go with lemon.

If you get 4 Angels you will likely end up with a breeding pair. If you get six it's almost guaranteed. So if a pair is what you want, go for it but Angels get cranky when they spawn. A 55 should have enough room for everyone to stay out of their way especially if you have alot of plants.

The Tetras and Cories are good. Cardinals aren't much bigger than neons but people on this site say Angels won't eat'em. It comes down to what you like.

I'm not sure about the Gouramis. I haven't kept them with Angels. It seems to me they'd be right in the Angels target area if you ended up with a pair and they spawned.

Have fun, Mike

It looks good to me. Sometimes angels once they pair off don't tolerate others of their kind too well so you need to be prepared to possibly have to move a couple out.
