i have an 80g tank (48x18 surface.) i have two levels of rock caves on both back corners. with alot of open space in the front. i was hoping that 2 pair of kribs and a pair of firemouths would work. this is a new tank and i was thinking of also having silver dollars, clown loaches and some rainbows, or the closest combo i could reach before over taxing the bio-load. i have already purchased a Tetratec PF500 Power Filter and a Penguin Bio-Wheel Power Filter 330, to filter the tank. i was also planning on having some sponge filters hiding in the back corners that could be ready to move into other small tanks as needed for quick cycling. any feed back would be appreciated.

I have a mixed cichlid tank. An oscar, 3 africans (malaya), a firemouth, and a Scarlet Krib (a slightly larger, more purple Krib)

It really depends on the Firemouth. My firemouth started picking on everyone but the oscar and he's only 4 inches size. He nipped the Kribs tail alot. I had to get rid of the firemouth.. I'd say keep kribs with other kribs, apistogramma's etc.. Maybe keyhole cichlids, peaceful as possible cichlids.

They should be fine together as long as there are plenty of hiding places. I have a 75 gal with a lot of rock and wood. I have 4 severums, 2 adult firemouths (and a lot of juvies), 2 kribs, 1 blue acara, 3 angels and a few platies and barbs. The Kribs breed and some of the fry usually survive. The Firemouths breed and usually have a substantial amount of fry survive.
