I have baby food and they eat but they wont grow which is it? they won't eat or they won't grow? also, what kind(s) of cichlids do you have and approx. how big are they? what size tank are they in and how often do you do water changes? if you can answer these questions it will be a lot easier to help you out.

Cichlids are fast growing some faster than others, oscars grow the fastest - 1/2 inch every week and a half.

I change 50-75% weekly or bi-weekly in all my tanks. I know people that change 50% twice a week. the more you change the water, the cleaner it will be and the faster they'll grow.

acei Big Fish Posts: 316 Kudos: 291 Votes: 1 Registered: 18-Mar-2004	as long as your tanks biological capacity is high enough, you should be able to perform large water changes daily. changing the water has little effect on your biofiltration. you can stress your fish out with too many/not properly done water changes. i do 50% water changes weekly on my malawi tanks. the tangs dont seem to handle frequent water changes like the malawi's for some reason.
