are blue acaras easy to raise??
what do you feed them at 3 weeks old... other than baby brine shrimp...??
i have a breeding pair and they produce lots of babies when they breed, but this last batch they ate them all and they seem to fight lots.... i dont know what to do...?

thats strange that they ate there babies! cichlids are traditionally good parents... well i think most cichlid babies are easy to raise, i raise my baby convicts so whatever

It is very common for new cichlid parents to eat the babies.

That does indeed seem very strange that your blue acaras ate their babies. They are usually considered to be very good parents with both male and female caring for and tending to the young. You may want to consider a nursery tank to put the fry in.

from a lot of info I've read and from experience with my festae pair, it seems that most South American cichlids take longer to become good parents than most Central Americans. I've heard of people having trouble with oscars, angels, festae and several other South American species. Just give em some time and let them practice. They'll get things right eventually. My festae pair have spawned at least 4-5 times now and still haven't raised the fry up. I'm hoping they'll figure things out soon.
