niggit![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 631 Kudos: 282 Votes: 0 Registered: 29-Jan-2003 ![]() ![]() | hi! i've been researching breeding a.cacatuoides, and recently added another two males and three females to the male and two females i already had. unfortunately, the new additions did not fair particularly well, but in any case, i still have 1 large male and 2 or 3 small females left. currently they live in my 55G planted community tank. my question is, is a 5G too small to set up as a breeding tank if and when a pair forms? i planned to use fine sand as a substrate, with a simple box filter for filtration. i would also add some rocks, driftwood, java fern and moss, and some halved terra cotta pots for caves. i do have larger tanks available, but finding convenient space to set them up in can be an issue, so if the 5G would work, that would be great! thanks |

niggit![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 631 Kudos: 282 Votes: 0 Registered: 29-Jan-2003 ![]() ![]() | well, the only problem is that in the 55G, i'm just kind of leaving it up to them (which i've been doing for the past little while, to no avail). in a smaller tank, i would have more control over their diet/conditioning (without having to feed frozen to ALL the 55G residents). but, as i'm strapped for time right now anyhow, maybe i'll just leave things as they are and see what happens! wish me luck |
