Breeding convicts is always easy. She'll need a 20 gallon-30 gallon as a pernament tank, or a 10 gallon for growout, but will still need to be transfered as soon as they get big.

Breeding them is fairly simple, condition them with lots of food, and feed about 10% excess, this ensures the parents know there is extra food for the young.

As soon as the female is showing her colors, and breeding rituals, I do a 35% water change and turn off the lights for about two days, if they didnt spawn by now, I would repeat the process.

Live food surely makes them breed.

Use about 1" of fine gravel, for them to dig. Dont use sand, its pretty messy with convicts. Add some rocks and pots for them to breed in.

Fry care is simple, leave them with the parents for 2 weeks while crushing flake food for them into the tank. The parents will usually feed the fry.

The fry would need to be removed after 2 weeks, or the parents may start killing them off for room for the new fry.

The fry are very simple to keep.

The parents may mess up the first times they spawn, but thats natural.

to breed convicts. Step one get convicts. Step 2 get water. Step 3 mix. and presto you got babies. But on a serious note they are super easy to breed. They are the rabbits of the fish world.
