i want to trade in my convicts for angels, but thinking bout catching them gives me headaches, because they are so smart, and hide in every little possible holes and gaps, should i lure them to my food source? or should i do it at night? i hated trying to catch them in the past, lemme know if you have a good way to do it besides taking out all my rocks plants and decs.

why dont you place the net(make it a big one) in the tank with some frozen food in it they might swim in to it and you can just raise the net]

take everything out then tank ....... get 1 big net 1 small net .... use the small net to lure the fish into the big net and bobs ur uncle

that is how i do it ... alot less stressful that using one net ... i always use 2 nets

When my bro was buying his 145 gallon (i was with him) the person had to fish out frontosas and how he did it was empty half of the water, take out everything inside, and then used two nets to catch them. Keep in mind that he had to remove everything out of the tank anyways, so it might be a hassle to remove half the water, but think of it as a water change

Definitely use 2 nets. Also the more decor you remove the easier/quicker it will be.

Well if one of the fish flops out of the net onto the floor then I would consider it stressful and too many fish in the net hehe (sorry bad humour sometimes)

i've found especially with my young convicts is to catch the dominate fish first and the rest are easier. Also aim for the one fish untill you catch them. they wear down and just about swim in the net.

Use the largest net that will fit in the tank and feed them with the net already in the water. You can them come right up on them with the net. Should not be any problem and willnot disturb the rest of the tank.

Convicts arent even half that bad! Imagine chasing frontosas and africans in a tank with ornaments stacked to the top.

The easiest way is get a large net, and move out ornaments from half of the tank. Use your hand and scare the fish to the empty side of the tank. When its there, its easier to catch since its in the open.

Thats what I do, i dont like draining the tank, ornaments can fall and fish can get hurt.
