He's just maturing into his male colouring. Males are orange, while females retain the blue colour. If you have more than one fish changing to orange, watch out!

You will be having a headache to this guy when he becomes complete yellowish orange....very aggressive fish. I traded my one to LFS because my tank is just not big enough for his monster territorial behaviour

He will soon find the part of the tank that he wants then he will start defending it and if you have females then he will bully them !

yeah, i have a rock thing in one corner that they use for shelter, but lately hes been hiding in there and wont leave even when i feed them,so ive been sprinkling a little directly over the cave thing so he can get some food in there.he is also very protective when the other comes near him,and he spooks very easily........i'll probably end up getting another ornament for the other one, because my sickly plants dont provide much cover for him

right now im using "TetraCichlid mini granules (bite sized food for small cichlids)"

but i think after this container/can runs out i'll get something for slightly larger cichlids

p.s.-im not so sure about feeding them live or frozen food because ive heard that the fish can get diseases or something like that
