I have some Yellow Labs. but i'm not an expert on Cichlids & others will give you better answers than mine, but i wouldn't try it, as the Yellow Labs. are quite peaceful for Cichlids.

I wouldn't do it. They require entirely different water conditions as they come from different parts of the world, Convicts are south american, Labs are african.

the water conditions are no problem my convicts were born and raised in the same conditions as the labs. im just wondering about aggression. if i get 1 male convict will that be ok.most of the time the most agression comes from a breeding pair

A simple rule is to keep african cichlids with african cichlids.

I just don't see the point or desire in keeping convicts/ or other SA-CA cichlids with african cichlids. They're not meant to be kept together.
