Has anyone used this stuff with shell dwellers? I picked up a bag of this for my new shellie set-up, and I'm just wondering if anyone with shellie experience has seen whether or not it's OK for them to dig in. The grains look pretty fine, but I don't want it to damage the little guys. Thanks!

Shellies are usually fine with whatever kind of sand. I hope you did not spend too much money because you can just buy sand from a hardware store for $1.50 for a 50 lbs bag.

I know, I planned on using regular play or pool filter sand, but when it came time to buy I wanted a black substrate. I was going to go with tahitian moon sand, but then i went for the EC because of the mixed in crushed coral to buffer. And if it's still not dark enough for me, I can always mix in more tahitian moon sand or another kind of black sand. Just seemed more versitile.

EC's just fine. What species do you have? Some species have different needs when it comes to substrate depth, etc.

I'll be getting a pair of brevis at the end of this week. I know all shellies dig, but I don't think brevis are crazy diggers, at least from what I've read. The reason I had concern is because they're pretty small, so i wasn't sure if the EC sand would be too big for them.

No, they won't have a problem with it. And they won't be particularly small for long - other than the "minuta" variety, brevis usually pass 2".
Some brevis, usually females, will put in the work to bury a shell, but most won't. However, they'll still do some general rearranging.
