need help with info on elec blues breeding

which species are you referring to? most electric blues i know of are scienochromis fryeri, or "ahli". if that is the case, they are maternal mouthbrooders. the female will lay eggs as the male will display for her, the male will fertilize the eggs and the female will take them into her mouth. the eggs hatch within a week and she will raise them in her mouth for 3-4 weeks, generally. she will not eat during this time. she will spit the fry into the rocks and the fry are left to fend for themselves.
some refer to m. cyanohabdos(sp) as electric blues also, and they are very similar in how they breed.
