(I'm so Americanised when it comes to fish tank capacity! :%)) If you're going for a species tank - which would look awesome - I think something like 12-15 fish in a 55. As with all mbuna set-ups, plenty of rocks are needed - try finding some limestone if you can, but I've found it difficult to find it in Qld for some reason. If you can't find it, good old lava rock, sandstone, rainbow rock etc. will do just fine. Anything stackable. If you want some greenery in there, anubias is by far the best plant to go with these fish - low light, low maintenance, grows on the rocks, and tough enough to withstand the little teeth of the cichlids. Water for these guys should be hard and alkaline, a ph of around 8 is ideal. If your water up there is naturally around 7.6, I wouldn't worry about raising it too much. But if you do want to raise it, it's easy enough to use a crushed coral or aragonite sand substrate, or else use crushed coral in your filter. Electric yellows are hardy little things so no real special requirements other than these - just the usual good filtration and regular maintenance, though if you keep the stock levels high obviously you will need to step up the maintenance a little.
