greenmonkey51    Fish Master Posts: 1571 Kudos: 1692 Votes: 5 Registered: 28-Jan-2004   | can someone help me design a diet for my blue acaras and green severum. right now im feeding them. 1. wardley cichlid pellets-minis- daily staple- 3 times a day 2. hikari freeze dried blood worms- twice a week- in evenings im about out of pellets. so what would be a good brand. any other types of food to feed them. no frozen food too expensive |

I feed my cichlids daphnia, bloodworm, brineshrimp, earthworms (once a week, thouroughly rinsed and chopped), spirulina flakes, and "New Life spectrum" For your severums and blue acara this is what i would feed (this is what I feed mine) everyday feed hikari pellets, at nights everyother day feed spirulina flake, then twice a week feed one of the live/frozen foods from above. Do not feed earthworms twice in two weeks, they are very high in protein, and i fear of bloat. HTH |
